A list of all claims and their status is provided via Foothold to the affected Health Home and CMA for review. Possible claim statuses in Foothold are as follows:
- Outstanding. This claim has been generated in Foothold and sent to the appropriate billing entity. No remittance advice has been received yet from eMedNY or a managed care organization.
- Paid. A remittance advice has been received from eMedNY or a managed care organization indicating that the claim has been paid.
- Denied. The claim was denied, and is under review for possible correction by Foothold.
Denied Claims. For claims, Foothold examines and resolves denials based on administrative or data entry errors, such as a patient’s date of birth or gender not matching the data on file with NYSDOH. For all other claim denials, Foothold works directly with the payers to ascertain the reason for the denial and possible steps to have the claim re-processed for payment.
