The billing support questionnaire asks whether a core service was provided to the patient during the month. Claims will only be generated for patients where “Yes” is indicated for this question. Patients in both outreach status and enrolled status must have the core service question answered “Yes” in the billing support questionnaire in order for a claim to be generated for a given month.
In order to answer “Yes” to the core service question in the billing support questionnaire, one or more encounters with a core service must be documented in Foothold for the given member-month. Otherwise, Foothold will present an error like the following:
This logic is intended to ensure that billing support questionnaire submissions indicating that a core service was provided have the necessary supporting documentation provided in Foothold.
If you need to delete an encounter with a core service or remove the core service from an encounter, and you do not have any other core services for the month, you will need to go in and void the associated BSQ for that month.
